Tony Popovic to Coach Western Sydney Team

It is understood Tony Popovic signed after last talks with Football Federation Australia bureaucrats on Wednesday, by putting the first key block in position as the team prepares to go through in the competition in year 2012/13. The meeting, believed to be on a 4-year contract, which will be announced at a press conference on Thursday at 12:00pm (AEST).

It comes after Tony Popovic leaves his job and was formally declared as assistant coach of Crystal Palace in England, plus moreover knocked back an offer from Sydney FC prior this week. The Sydney FC brings Ian Crook as its new coach on Monday.Following assistant coaching roles with Crystal Palace and Sydney FC, Popovic is place for his first head coaching post.
