The Australian Christian Lobby (ACL) has welcomed the statement of Victorian Government of support for Professor Kuravilla George as an associate of EOC (Equal Opportunity Commission) of the Victoria. Jim Wallace, the Managing Director said that as a society they should continue to hold up free speech as well as the right for the head psychiatrist to have an individual opinion that marriage between a woman and a man is the best surroundings for children to be grown up.
Mr. Wallace said that, though, an expert opinion against similar-sex marriage is completely legitimate and moreover is also no cause for anyone to be driven from such a position . A large part of Australians don’t support changing the Marriage Act. Research which is carried out by Sexton Marketing for Ambrose Centre for the Religious Liberty found that simply 49 % supported altering the Marriage Act. Opposition to similar-sex marriage shouldn’t disbar them from holding public parts in their society, mainly within bodies recognized to adjudicate on problems of equity.Mr. Wallace said that, it was hypocritical for some to inquiry position of Professor Kuravilla. Mr. Wallace said that, to have the Victorian attorney-general naming for Professor George to clarify himself for not advocating similar-sex marriage as being an equal chance commissioner that should call into question the capability of commissioners to handle with fairness on the issues which come before them.
Mr. Wallace said that, the pressure place on Professor George is usual of the gay activists, which is once again they demonize alternate voices as well as clearly very admirable ones from the public discussion. It is a method the public should refuse. Mr. Wallace said that, it is time to place truth back in this discussion and reject the demonization and handling of public opinion that is as much a risk to our democracy as to this discussion.
