Telstra has recently declared that Bruce Akhurst, CEO of Sensis will resign from the company in May following 15 years service. Mr Akhurst connected Telstra as General Counsel in 1996 and was afterward on the role of Group General Manager, regulatory and legal framework, to bring before them, appointed wholesale and BigPond. Bruce has been with Sensis in the last 7 years.
CEO David Thodey recently wished Mr Akhurst for well in his future and thanked him for his contribution in supporting the transition of Telstra to traditional phone company, a full service advertising and information-telecommunications provider. Mr Thodey said that despite a difficult environment pressure, Sensis has managed to maintain strong print revenue, compared with their peers around the world and has begun its transition to a fully capable business of digital media. The early success of these digital solutions in the market is encouraging.
Rick Ellis, Telstra Group Managing Director of digital media is performing CEO of Sensis and work throughout a changeover time with Mr. Akhurst in a process of recruiting a stable substitution. Mr Akhurst said today that he was immodest of his input to Telstra and its equipment. He enjoyed his time as CEO of Sensis. Now is the time for a change, and he hope to explore new possibilities. He said he was surprised and inspired by the dedication and ingenuity of its people. Sensis team undergoes a fundamental change and builds a bright future for a printing business once traditional.
